Easy Bread

Looking for a good, easy recipe for banana bread, I stumbled across this blogger that tells me the best they've found so far is in a book I already own! "Joy of Cooking" If you have this cookbook (like a bible for foodies) you should definitely try it out.

Right now I'm trying a recipe I found right next to this one - the Quick Beer Bread recipe. Was amazingly simple and I already had all ingredients! So far it smells like yeasty goodness without all the hassle of dealing with yeast. Can't wait to eat it! I'll report back. :)

Very Potato Particular

I am such a food snob that I've proclaimed flake mashed potatoes as an utter disgrace to my gastrointestinal region. How did this happen? I guess I'd much rather spend more time making quality, minimally-processed food that leaves me feeling good than chomping down over-processed garbage food. Basically, if I'm going to have a potato, it's going to be a potato!

Geeking-out my phone

Lately, I've been really getting into learning about customizing my phone with phone themes. I even went so far as to join the Nokia developers site and downloaded Carbide - Nokia's phone theme creator software. So far, it's a bit over my head, but I've already been able to hack some files and come up with some designs for my celly. I've showed them to friends and they're like "hells yes - hook me up!" So that's pretty exciting. I like how I get to use all sides of my brain, rather than just the one that tells me "oh, that's really pretty". It's fun being a techie nerd girl. The image to the left is the wallpaper (fackin' chubies) and background (orange) for my Nokia 6126. I'll have to get some pics of it in action.

Cutest babygirl EV-ar. Up until now I have not been able to capture a good photo of my cat. (She wiggles her head almost constantly.) With my new Canon SD870, this is almost effortless!

I'm hoping to order this ASAP. My camera died - luckily (or unluckily) I had an extended warranty thru American TV, so the manufacturer deemed the camera unfixable, which means I got a gift card with the amount of a camera of equal or lesser value. That amounted to only about $160 :( The camera cost $350 2 years ago.

The bad/unlucky thing is that American TV has a crappy camera selection now. I think something bad business-wise might be going on behind the scenes there. They used to have all the top electronics, now they only offer last years models and maybe only 1 or 2 models that are brand new. Pretty disappointing.

So in my searching I found that this camera is the best for my needs - ultracompact, great MP, great zoom, great lens. Also, pretty stylish! :) And everyone seems to rate it really really high for all the other important stuff! At only $300, it's not bad at all price-wise.
